At Gross Point Acres, gardening is more than a pastime — it's part of our roots.

As a child, I was lucky to grow up alongside two women with serious green thumbs: my mother and grandmother. I was often found barefoot in the garden, watching in awe as they cultivated beauty seemingly out of thin air.

 

My mother, in particular, was what we lovingly call a plunker — she’d split perennials on a whim, planting them wherever inspiration struck. Her garden was a living canvas, filled with unexpected color and magic as each season passed.

Now, my style might lean more toward grids than gut instinct — but the joy of watching life reemerge after a long Wisconsin winter still feels like a kind of rebirth.

 

Gross Point Acres was born from that feeling — a space where anyone can reconnect with nature, get their hands dirty, and find a bit of beauty no matter their space or experience. Whether you’re picking up perennials, gathering a fresh bouquet, renting a space in our greenhouse, or celebrating life’s big moments in our garden event space, Gross Point Acres is your home away from home.
